Anthony P. Basile President Chicago Diversified Foods Corp. 2008 Recipient Tony is a product of the Taylor Street area in Chicago, Illinois (Little Italy) where he was raised in the Jane Adams Housing Project. Recognizing his potential and need for financial assistance, a state Senator from the Taylor street area awarded Tony a four-year General Assembly scholarship to the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana. Tony is currently the President and Owner of Chicago Diversified Foods Corp, Interstate Convenience Stores of Michigan, Inc. Lomi Properties, Three Rivers Investments and Co-owner of National Franchise Acceptance LLC. Previously, Tony was the partner in Arthur Young & Company for 17 years specializing in restaurant operations and financial planning and control. He is the former Midwest Regional Director of Financial Planning and Control for the Firm. A Certified Public Accountant, Tony is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, the Illinois CPA Society, the Institute of Internal Auditors, a former member of the Management Advisory Services Technical and Consulting Subcommittee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a former member of the Management Advisory Services Committee of the Illinois CPA Society. Over the years Tony has received many awards, but recently he was recognized for helping others; and he said that means the most to him. He was awarded the Tri State Professional Achievement for “outstanding leadership accomplishments, immeasurable compassionate contributions to others, personal commitment to professional excellence and extraordinary dedication to friends and family.” He was chosen the 2006 Champion of Youth by the Taco Bell Foundation for his support of Boys and Girls clubs. After many years of trying to establish a Boys & Girls Club in Grand Rapids Michigan, it will become a reality this year through his efforts. Tony made a significant financial contribution toward establishing the club. He was honored to be selected as Judge of the 2006 Youth of the Year selection for the state of Michigan. He was also honored as 2007 Sportsman of the Year by the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame.
