Brian Barefoot grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and graduated from Cranbrook Prep School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 1961. His father was an industrialist for a company that made machines for General Motors and other large steel companies and had a friend who interested young Brian in the "Wall Street" machinations.

He enrolled at Union College, but decided that he disliked engineering and transferred to Babson College. After graduation, he earned an MBA from Pace College. It was then that he decided to make a career on Wall Street. In reality, he quickly achieved executive management positions at Merrill Lynch where he remained for 25 years.

Mr. Barefoot retired in 1992 and founded Frontier Sports Development Corporation; but after two years, Wall Street was still in his blood. He had a close friend with Senior Management at PaineWebber who coaxed him out of "retirement." He is presently Executive Vice President of PaineWebber and Director of its Investment Banking Division.

Brian Barefoot is married and has three children—John, Katharine, and Molly.
