DENIS ANDREUZZI Business Leader Italian 1997 Recipient Denis Andreuzzi received a B.A. in chemistry and business from Columbia College in 1953 and an MBA degree in finance from New York University Graduate School of Business. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He started his business career with Chase Manhattan Bank in their training program in 1955. In 1957 he joined Witco Corporation and spent most of his business career with Witco. After a series of sales and marketing positions, he became vice president of marketing in 1967 and a division general manager in 1975. In 1977, he was named a Witco group vice president and in 1983, Mr. Andreuzzi was made executive vice president and was elected to Witco's Board of Directors. In 1990, he was named President and Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Wirco Corporation. Witco is a Fortune 250 company and a leader in chemical and petroleum specialty products with sale of $2.5 billion. Mr. Andreuzzi retired in later 1994 after 37 years with Witco and is now President of Andreuzzi Associates, a financial and business advisor. He has served on various Witco boards around the world, and on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute and the National Petroleum Refiners Association. He's been a member of the American Chemical Society and the Chemical Manufacturers Association. In Scarsdale, where he and his family reside, he is Eucharistic Minister and serves on the Parish Finance Council at St. Pius X Church. Mr. Andreuzzi is active in the Board and Executive Committee of the Scarsdale Village Town and Civic Club, a bipartisan organization involved in the management of town activities. He's a member of the Forum Club, The University Club and Westchester Country Club, where he serves on the Board of Governors and is Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is also a member of the Executive, Special Planning and Admissions Committees. Mr. Andreuzzi is a member of the John Jay Associates and the Society of Columbia Graduates of Columbia University. He is a Haskins Partner at New York University Stern School of Business and is active on the Cardinal's Committee for the Laity in New York City. Mr. Andreuzzi is married to Catherine Rappa.
