Ernest Micek is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Cargill, Incorporated, a global merchandiser, producer and distributor of agricultural and other commodities, based in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

   Micek previously was head of Cargill’s worldwide food sector activities including corn milling, flour milling, oilseed processing and malt and cocoa operations.

   Micek is Chairman of the Trade and Technology Policy Group and a member of the executive committee of the National Association of Manufacturers. He also serves in a variety of advisory and oversight roles with schools at the University of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and St. Thomas.

   Born Feb. 18, 1936, in Arcadia, Wisconsin, Micek joined Cargill after graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1959 with a degree in chemical engineering.
