  Stephan Huh is a prominent architect in Minneapolis, MN.  He is Chairman and CEO of PDI World Group, formerly The Leonard Parker Associates, a 50-year-old firm which Mr. Huh purchased and renamed PDI World Group LLC in 2006.  Steve had worked at The Leonard Park Associates for 35 years and had been CEO since 1997.  Prior to coming to the US, Steve spent three years with the Korean Ministry of Education.

Mr. Huh has been instrumental in international business development and worked as principal in charge and design director on numerous projects.  No less than 30 of these projects have won First Place Awards in national and international design competitions.  He was the first Korean-born architect named to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) in 1995 and has subsequently served as a jury member on the AIA Honorary Fellows selection committee.

Steve Huh’s professional recognition in Minnesota and personal achievements are especially noteworthy.  He was the first person named an Honorary Fellow of the Korean Institute of Architects (HFKIA) and is also an Honorary Fellow of the Philippines Institute of Architects (HFPIA).  He was the recipient of the Asian Pacific Leadership Award in 1997 and the American Business Advisory Council Gold Medal in 2003.  He is one of only 28 individuals designated as a leading CEO by the Korean Government selected from 7 million Koreans living outside of Korea.  He is a 4-time nominee for the highest award for Distinguished Koreans Living in a Foreign Country sponsored by the Korean Broadcasting System.  He served for five years as an Advisor to the President of South Korea on the Peaceful Unification of the Peninsula.

Mr. Huh was nominated and selected as a finalist to become Dean of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.  He is currently an adjunct Professor at the University of Hawaii and at Han Yang University in Korea and he has served on the Advisory Committee, the Program Evaluation Team and Technical Olympic Jury at Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota.

Mr. Huh has participated in numerous Minnesota trade missions to Korea and China with Governors Rudy Perpich (1984-1990), Arne Carlson (1002) and Tim Pawlenty (2006).  Mr. Pawlenty also appointed Steve to the Council of Asian-Pacific Minnesotans.  In addition, he accompanied former President Bill Clinton on a trip to Seoul in 2005.

Within his own community, Steve has served as President and Chairman of the Board of both the Minnesota Korean Association and Korean Chamber of Commerce.  He was a founding member of the Korean Institute of Minnesota and Governor Rudy Perpich appointed him Director of the Minnesota Academic Foundation Board.  Among many, he also served as an Advisor to the University of Minnesota, Concordia University Language Villages, the Minnesota Trade Office and a Small Business Committee chaired by Minnesota Congressman Jim Ramstad.
