Joseph “Joe” Pizza, Co-Owner and President of Interchem Corporation is a native son of Hackensack, New Jersey. Joe was born on September 28, 1950 at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey as the first of five children of Mr. Joseph P. pizza and Mrs. Florence Lurato Pizza, residents of Hackensack, New Jersey.

Upon graduation from Hackensack High School in 1968, Joe continued his education at Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickinson Universities where he earned a Baccalaureate Degree in Economics. He advanced his education by attaining a Masters Degree (MBA) in Business Administration in Pharmaceutical Marketing at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

In May 1981, Joe founded interchem Corporation in Paramus, New Jersey with his partner and childhood friend, Ronald J, Mannino, a registered Pharmacist. Interchem is one of the largest importers of bulk active pharmaceuticals and chemicals in the Unite States, Interchem is the exclusive Unite Sales and FDA Agents for many of the world’s major bulk pharmaceutical and fine chemical manufactures.

In addition to Joe’s fine business acumen, he also possesses a unique creative flair, which he utilized in the co-founding of Intermedia Post in Paramus, New Jersey with Ron Mannino. Intermedia Post is a multimedia facility providing full audio, video and post production services for the corporate and entertainment industries.

Joe is also as accomplished singer/songwriter with the popular music field. Joe who has recorded under the stage name “Slyce” released his first album in 1990. His self titled debut album “ Sylce” generated five songs which garnered airplay on over 400 radio stations nationwide and each one landed on the prestigious the Gavin Report Adult Contemporary top 40 chart. Joe has performed an original song dedicated to our freedom entitled “ Lay Liberty “ with the support of the Georgia Mass Choir for the millennium celebration of the Ellis Island Awards in front of such luminaries as then First Lady and now New York State Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In 1998, Joe was the featured speaker fro the Fairleigh Dickinson University Club of Northern New Jersey. His topic was “How to build a Multi-Million Dollar Business from Nothing”. He is also the recipient of numerous awards including The Fairleigh Dickinson Pinnacle Award, The Italian-American Coalition Award and The Ellis Island Medal of Honor. Joe is also a member of the Board of Directors of Dobfar Holdings S.p.A. in Milan, Italy which is one of the world’s largest producers of bulk active and finished goods serving the Antibiotics market.

Joe has also been instrumental in the support of providing life saving medical care to international recipients through his involvement with The Forum Club’s Children’s Foundation. Joe’s efforts are exemplified by the title of one of the many songs he has written and produced entitled “Little Children Don’t Deserve to Die”. Joe in conjunction with The Forum Club’s Children’s Foundation sponsored two children who were victims of the recent earthquake in El Salvador. These two boys were transported from their ravaged homeland of El Salvador to the safe sanctuary of the Unite States for life saving neurological surgery at the renowned Hackensack University Medical Center. The dual operations were successful and the boys are now back home in El Salvador, a living testament to Joe’s commitment to children

Joe is married to his wife Lauren and is a devoted father to four children: Joseph Jr. 33, Jeffrey, 30, Aniela, 10 and Daniel, 8.
