Martin P. Doolan Irish 1999 Recipient Mr. Doolan, with over 25 years of experience as a corporate turnaround executive, has been highly successful in restoring shareholder value and long-term profitability in several medium-to-large size corporations. He has provided extensive CEO management and advisory turnaround services to companies owned by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, First Chicago Venture Capital, Madison Dearborn Partners, Regional Financial Enterprises, Security Pacific Venture Capital, Weston Presidio Capital, Banc One Venture Partners, Sunwestern Investment Group, Schottenstein Stores Corporation and others. Mr. Doolan founded Multitech Enterprises in 1982; a firm that specializes in providing CEO management for companies with under performing earnings. Mr. Doolan serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Multitech and fosters the principle of equity participation and continued involvement with all client companies until a successful turnaround and exit strategy is executed with significant return to shareholders. In recent years, Mr. Doolan has co-invested and managed portfolio investment companies for RFE Investment Partners, Weston Presidio Capital, Capstan Partners and Schottenstein Stores Corp. Mr. Doolan served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bestop (NASDAQ), an automotive convertible and sports utility vehicle top manufacturer. He led this company successfully from crisis through divestiture, renewed profitability, IPO and strategically positioned acquisitions providing profitable growth and exit strategy for investors with a significant ROI. The company was featured by Fortune in, Companies to Watch November, 1992 article and by Business Week in May, 1993 article, Best Small Growth Companies, rated number one return on invested capital and 11th in growth. Mr. Doolan served as Chairman, Chief Executive officer of a $100 million furniture manufacturer, owned by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a leading New York based LBO firm. He was responsible for a significant turnaround from crisis to strong profits and refocus of the strategic direction of this business for continued long term profits, growth and strategic sale of business at significant return on investment to a publicly traded NASDAQ firm. Mr. Doolan serves as Director/Chairman on several Board of Directors, holds numerous U.S. and international patents. He has an ASEE from RCA Institutes, a BBA from Dallas Baptist University and studied Electrical Engineering at City University of New York. Mr. Doolan served seven years active service in the United States Coast Guard, and 30 years in the Reserves. He attended the Army War College for Reserves and retired as Captain, July 1997, waiving selection to Rear Admiral.
