George Pagoumian Armenian/Lebanese 2009 Recipient Due to the consolidation of the alphabet companies during the last decade, Mr. George Pagoumian saw the opportunity to create a global property marketing/brokering intermediary platform and he founded NAPCO in 1996. Mr. Pagoumian has served as President and Chief Executive Officer until early 2003 when he became Chairman of the Board and CEO. He commenced his commercial property insurance career in 1962 with Commercial Union and Great American where for nine years he was a National Accounts Property Underwriter. In 1972, Mr. Pagoumian joined F.S. James/Sedgwick/Marsh. During his thirteen year plus tenure with F.S. James/Sedgwick/Marsh, he held the position of Marketing Director for their national and global property insurance operations in New York. In 1984, he joined Rollins Burdick Hunter/AON of New York as President of the Mid-Atlantic Division and senior member of the National Accounts Property Marketing Group. In 1988, Mr. Pagoumian joined Tri-City Wholesale Brokerage as Partner where he formed their National Accounts Property Division. Mr. Pagoumian has many years experience in the conceptualization and marketing of national and global property insurance programs; and in the development of a wholesale organization with the capability to consolidate property insurance capacity in a global market. Mr. Pagoumian spends most of his time in charitable endeavors as well as reading spiritual books. Mr. Pagoumian serves on the board for Children of Armenia Fund. In 2006, Mr. Pagoumian was honored for his humanitarian efforts on behalf of women and children’s charities throughout the world at the Children of Armenia Fund’s third annual Save a Generation Awards in New York.
