   Philip (Phil) Dusenberry is chairman of BBDO New York and vice chairman of the board of BBDO Worldwide.

   Phil joined the agency in 1962 as a copywriter, was promoted to creative supervisor in 1965, and was elected vice president in 1967. He left BBDO in 1969 to become president of his own advertising agency, a company he sold to the Clyne-Maxon agency seven years later.

   Phil rejoined BBDO as associate creative director in 1977 and was subsequently elected senior vice president and member of the board of directors. He was appointed one of the agency's three creative directors in 978 and executive creative director in 1980. Simultaneously, he was elected executive vice president. He was elected vice chairman and named a member of the board of directors of BBDO Worldwide in 1983. In June of 1986, Phil was elected chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO New York and remains the agency's chairman.

   In 1985, Advertising Age honored Phil's agency, BBDO, as Advertising Agency of the Year, and in February of 1986, Adweek magazine named him Advertising Executive of the Year. BBDO was again chosen "Agency of the Year" by Adweek and Advertising Age in 1994.

   In 1995, Phil was awarded the agency's highest honor, the Dillon Prize, for his hard work, dedication and contributions to the agency. BBDO's Dillon Prize was established in 1986 and is given to the one employee annually who exemplifies the outstanding qualities attributed for former chairman, Tom Dillon.

   In addition to his advertising achievements, Phil is the co-author of the screenplay for "The Natural" starring Robert Redford.

   In 1984 he was a member of the Tuesday Team, thee ad-hoc ad agency that created President Reagan's re-election campaign advertising. In connection with this role, Phil wrote and produced the now-famous 18-minute documentary film, "A New Beginning," that aired on the NBC-TV network during the Republican National Convention in August of 1984. An updated version of that film also served to introduce President Reagan at the Republican National Convention in New Orleans in 1988 and has become a permanent addition to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation in Thousand Oaks, California.

   Phil attended Emory & Henry College before working at radio stations in Virginia, Tennessee and New York. He currently lives in New York City with his wife, Susan and stepson Ben.
