Rickey M. Gelb is the Managing General Partner of Gelb Enterprises and owner of RGM Properties, both real estate development and property management companies in the Los Angeles area.

Gelb grew up in the San Fernando Valley and was employed in his family retail appliance and television store that eventually grew to 18 stores in Southern California. After selling the ATA chain of stores, he concentrated his efforts on expanding Gelb Enterprises by developing and acquiring a variety of retail shopping centers, office buildings, industrial buildings, professional/medical buildings, government buildings and apartment buildings.

In addition to his active business career, Gelb has involved himself in the running and management of several civic organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of First Commerce Bank and is a past president of the West Valley Police Activity League (PALS) and is currently the president of the West Valley Boosters program. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the LAPD Jeopardy program that helps to keep kids out of gangs, the LAPD Reserve Foundation and the Encino Chamber of Commerce.

Gelb has served on many state and city commissions, including: the Los Angeles Department of Transportation Mobile Action Committee, the Ventura/Cahuenga Boulevard Review Board, Mayor Riordan’s Valley Job Recovery Corporation, and the Police Fire and Public Safety Committee.

Based on his service and contributions to the San Fernando Valley, he received the coveted and prestigious Fernando Award in 2000. Gelb has received more than 500 commendations, awards and recognitions from federal, state, county city levels and charitable foundations recognizing him for all he has contributed and implemented in the community.

Gelb’s family came from Austria and Russia and immigrated to the United States in 1905.

He is married to his high-school sweetheart; Robbi and they have two children and three grandchildren.
