Salvatore A. Balsamo is Chairman of the Board, principal owner, and founder of TAC Worldwide Companies (TAC) and its affiliates. He has over thirty years experience in the staffing industry, which is a service industry providing contract and temporary help to business, industry and government.

TAC Worldwide Companies was founded as Technical Aid Corporation in 1969 in Boston, MA. The company name was changed in 1997 to better communicate its global scope and size. Corporate headquarters is located at 888 Washington Street in Dedham, Massachusetts.

o        With over $1 billion in annual revenues, TAC is the largest privately held company of its kind in the United States specializing in providing qualified temporary and contract professionals.

o        TAC has over 150 offices providing services to more than 6,500 clients in 50 states and 23 countries in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.

o        TAC has the distinction of being named on the Forbes 500 list of Top Private Companies in the United States since 1995.

Under Mr. Balsamo’s leadership for the past 33 years, TAC Worldwide Companies has maintained the highest standards of integrity within the organization and in the staffing industry.

TAC is organized to provide its clients the unique advantage of an international network of business units specializing in numerous areas of expertise, including TECH/AID, EDP Contact Services, TAC Automotive Group, TAC Staffing Services, TAC Nationwide Staffing, TAC Engineering Resources, TAC Entertainment Staffing, Technical Aid International, Systems Management and Development, and Desktop Migration Solutions.

Salvatore Balsamo has occupied a number of leadership positions with professional affiliations:

o        Mr. Balsamo has the distinction of having been the only person to serve as President of the National Association of Temporary Staffing Services (NATSS, now known as the American Staffing Association, or ASA) from 1988-1989, the National Technical Services Association (NTSA) from 1983-1984, and the Massachusetts Association of Temporary Services (MATS, now know as the Massachusetts Association of Staffing Services, or MASS).

o        Caritas Norwood Hospital elected Mr. Balsamo a Trustee and member of the Board of Directors for his outstanding leadership, business acumen, and his active participation in public service, community involvement, and volunteerism.

o        Curry College has appointed Mr. Balsamo a Trustee and a member of the Board of Directors, President's Circle, and the Development Committee.

o        The National Italian American Foundation has elected Mr. Balsamo to the Board of Directors.  He was elected during the annual meeting at the New York Stock Exchange in 2002, and currently serves as the foundation’s regional Vice President for the New England Area.

o        Mr. Balsamo serves on the National Leadership Committee of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame.

Salvatore Balsamo has received numerous awards recognizing his leadership and community involvement:

o      Mr. Balsamo was inducted into the order of Saint Michael The Archangel, and designated Grand Knight of the Order, on October 22, 2002. The Massachusetts Association of Italian American Police Officers, Inc. presented this coveted award to him in honor of his outstanding commitment and dedication to public service and to the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

o      The 1996 Entrepreneur Of The Year Award For Category Services. This prestigious awards program is sponsored nationally by Ernst & Young LLP, NASDAQ, USA Today, The Entrepreneur of the Year Institute, and the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Ewing Marion. The program was created to identify successful business owners, to celebrate their achievements, and to promote better understanding of the vital role of entrepreneurship.

o      The Pirandello Lyceum’s “I Migliori” Award. This prestigious honor is awarded to outstanding men and women of Italian birth or descent who have made important contributions to American society and distinguished themselves in their particular field of endeavor. Pirandello Lyceum is a non-profit cultural organization.

o      Honorary Degree From Curry College. Mr. Balsamo was presented the Doctor of Business honoris causa from Curry College at their 118th commencement exercises. This great honor is in recognition of his integrity, dedication and selflessness in the business field, along with his strong dedication to family.

o      Honorary Degree from Southern New England School of Law. Mr. Balsamo was awarded the Doctor of Laws honoris causa from Southern New England School of Law on June 5, 1999.

o      In 1995, Mr. Balsamo was honored with the NTSA Industry Leadership Award (National Technical Services Association) for contributing “more to this industry than any other single person both from the standpoint of modeling a successful operational organization and of being a leader on the NTSA board.” He was honored in the same year by the Massachusetts chapter of NTSA for his outstanding contributions to the technical services industry in New England.

o      Mr. Balsamo was inducted into the ASA Leadership Hall of Fame on October 15, 1998. A 15-year member of the ASA (American Staffing Association, formerly NATSS) board, Mr. Balsamo is past president of the association and has chaired several national committees. The Leadership Hall of Fame was created to recognize outstanding individual contributions and service to the Association and the staffing industry.

o      In 1998 the Massachusetts Association of Staffing Services named Mr. Balsamo a Staffing Legend, its highest industry honor.

o      Mr. Balsamo received the Cardinal Cushing Service Award in 1997 in recognition for his work with Catholic Charities of Greater Boston.

o      The Newton - Needham Chamber of Commerce presented the Beacon Award in 1999 to Mr. Balsamo in recognition of his benevolent support of the community.

o      The city of Newton built the Salvatore A. Balsamo Millennium Park, at Newton City Hall, in honor of Mr. Balsamo's generosity and contributions to the city of Newton.

o      Mr. Balsamo was honored by the American Heart Association with their Cor Vitae “Heart of Life” Award in 2000, for his years of support in the fight against heart disease and stroke.

o      A portrait of Salvatore Balsamo was displayed at the Boston Public Library in June 2000 as part of the "Boston's Millennium Leaders" exhibit produced by the famed Bachrach Studios. After the exhibit, the portrait was retained as part of the library's permanent archives.

o      Mr. Balsamo and his wife Yvonne Balsamo received the Legionnaire Award from the Boston’s Renaissance Lodge (Order of the Sons of Italy in America.) Recipients of this award are selected for their significant contributions to the community, and are chosen from those whose success in life reflects positively on the image of Italian-Americans.

o      Salvatore Balsamo received the Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award from the Massachusetts Association of Italian American Police Officers on October 6, 2000, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, professionalism, inspiration and service to our communities.

o      On November 4, 2000, The National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, Massachusetts Chapter presented Salvatore Balsamo with their Humanitarian of the Year Award because of his accomplishments in business, countless contributions to society and unwavering commitment to his family and employees.

Salvatore Balsamo is the Founder and Trustee of the Balsamo Memorial Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit organization that exists for the sole purpose of conducting fundraising activities on behalf of worthwhile charities that serve the needs of children and the elderly.

Mr. Balsamo is very active within the community and has a long history of supporting service and philanthropic organizations, including:

While setting an example for his management team and staff, Mr. Balsamo encourages active participation in public service and volunteer organizations.

Salvatore Balsamo was born and grew up in the city of Boston. He resides in Dover, Massachusetts with his wife Yvonne. His family — Tony Balsamo, Mary Balsamo, Linda Wirta, Bill Wirta, Vicki Balsamo, and his five grandchildren — resides in the Metropolitan Boston, MA area.
