Background:

Back in Agalianos, a tiny village in rural Evrytania, Greece.  The Village was occupied and destroyed by German forces in 1943.  In 1947, Agalianos became the site of two major battles between the Armed Forces of Greece and the communist guerillas.  The Village burned to the ground and was totally destroyed by the communists.  The surviving inhabitants were dispersed to nearby cities at first and eventually immigrated to the Western Democracies, mostly to the United States.

Graduated with High Honors from the Gymnasium of Amaroussion, Athens and immigrated to America.

Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving two (2) years as a Sergeant in the Military Police, stationed in Korea.

Family:

Wife Arete and four daughters.

               Major participant in 3 major fund drives to help build the

Represented St. Nicholas Clergy-Laity Congress, 1992, New Orleans, LA. 1994, Chicago, IL.

Chairman of Journal and Fundraising Clergy-Laity Congress, 2000, Philadelphia, PA.

Financed the Opening of the First Greek Orthodox Church in Cuba, 2001.

Honored as Newday’s “Queens Profile”, 2000 for many Philanthropic and Educational Activities.

Sponsored tens of families to immigrate from war-torn Greece to the United States and provided free room and board until they were able to settle on their own.

Awarded Honorary Plaques by His All Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew for Active Participation in the Opening of the School of E.R.T.O. in Constantinople, 1998.

Major Contributor and Fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House.

Appointed Walk-a-thon and Fundraising Chairman for the Ronald McDonald House.

Archon “Dikaiophylax” of the Order of St. Andrew.

Leadership 100 Member.

CEO, Stephen Cherpelis Enterprises, Inc., a Conglomerate of Real Estate and Restaurants.
