  Walter Danielson was raised on a farm in Montana where he worked at "farm boy" daily chores and attended school in a one-room hut. After school, he went to the Swedish Lutheran Church, studied Catechism and was confirmed in Swedish. For financial reasons, he held a variety of jobs while in high school. In his senior year in high school, he was Student Body President.

  After graduation from college, where he also held several diversified positions after school, he was admitted to Montana University's School of Law and obtained the position as accountant in the business office of the University. He was Editor of the first Law Review and worked tirelessly. Danielson's schedule at that time included four hours of school, five hours of work daily, and weekends for intensive studying. Upon graduation, he took the bar exam in Los angeles, passed, and was hired as an accredited attorney.

  He became active in the Swedish colony and was a member of Vasa Order, Swedish Club, Central Committee, National League, and others. In October 1937, Walter Danielson was appointed Honorary Vice Consul. He was elevated to Consul General in 1969. When the government changed the office to Career, his tenure expired 39 years after his initial appointment.

  Very active in the Los Angeles Consular Corps, he was Secretary for many years. In 1976, he was given the status of "Consul General Emeritus, Los Angeles Consular Corps." In his Consular career, he had the pleasure of presenting, on behalf of the King of Sweden, Royal decorations to 13 deserving residents.

  During the war, he handled all Consular responsibilities of the Hungarian government. For this he received the Hungarian "Officers Cross." From the King of Sweden he received three decorations, and one each from the Kings of Denmark and Norway.

  He was a vigorous lawyer, specialized in wills, probate, and family estate planning and has received a Degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Montana, a Diploma of Honor from Pepperdine University, First Scandinavian of the Year from the American Scandinavian Foundation, and the Distinguished Service Award from California Lutheran University.

  Married and the father of two children, Walter Danielson is an American who exemplifies the American Dream.
