Advocating for Positive Change in the Present
NECO forms meaningful partnerships to advocate for positive change in the present.
We've teamed with Boys Hope Girls Hope, The National Italian American Sports Hall of
Fame, The Chinese Cultural Center, GOAL, and others to ensure that we are making a
positive impact on the lives of people in need today.

Below you'll see some of our recent initiatives.

SPOT LIGHT

Alam S. Abu, M.D.
This past April, Dr. Alam and some friends built and
opened a 100-bed hospital in a remote area of
Bangladesh
, his home country. Nandina General
Hospital offers the only medical care for miles around.

Garo Armen
"Eighteen months and $1.5 million dramatically
transformed a village of 5,000 with 1,200 children."

These were Garo Armen's words during his address at
the 3rd Armenian Diaspora conference recently held in
Yerevan, Armenia.

Alex Harris
In 2005 Harris met King Abdullah of Jordan, and
together they organized multinational conferences
and seminars.

At the most recent conference, held this past May in
Jerusalem, Egyptian, Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian
political and travel representatives met to discuss
tourism in the Middle East.
THE NATIONAL ITALIAN SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Ellis Island Medalists Make Dreams Come True
in Chicago.

The National Italian Sports Hall of Fame is a
magnificent 44,000 square foot facility located in the
heart of Chicago's historic Little Italy.
REVELS CIRCLE OF SONG

The Revels Circle of Song, a touring ensemble based in
Watertown, Massachusetts, will perform An American
Journey on Ellis Island, Sunday, March 25, 2007 at
1:00 and 2:30 p.m.
HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE

NECO got together with New York Jet linebacker
Victor Hobson to provide toys for children at two
Harlem hospitals.
NECO SPEAKS OUT ON BEHALF OF IMMIGRANT FAMILIES

In October, NECO initiated a mail campaign urging
Congress to grant green cards to the families of
eleven illegal immigrants--employees at the World
Trade Center -who lost their lives on 9/11.
The story
was picked up by the Associated Press (AP) and carried
in close to 300 newspapers around the country.
